Product Description

The Biotage® VacMaster™ Disk is a solid phase extraction system for performing manual, disk-based extractions. The system is designed for high productivity laboratories and is an excellent first step for laboratories interested in moving from liquid-liquid extractions to solid phase extractions for sample preparation.

Technical specifications

The system can be used to extract semi-volatile organic compounds, as well as hexane-extractable materials (HEMs), from water samples. It accommodates both 47 mm and 90 mm disks, as well as a variety of pre-filters to meet the challenges of any sample matrix, regardless of the particulate level. Both 125 mL Erlenmeyer flasks and 40 mL VOA vials can be used for sample collection, to accommodate the elution volume being used. The system also offers the possibility of connecting several units together to increase sample throughput and operator efficiency.

The system includes:
• Single-position metal base with 4-position valve to stop the vacuum draw on that station, or to divert solution to aqueous, organic or chlorinated waste containers, as needed
• Glass cylinder elution chamber for production of vacuum into a collection vessel. The elution chamber contains a lid with a luer connector to accommodate disk holders with a luer fitting
Once assembled with the appropriate disk, disk holder, pre-filters and collection vessel, the VacMaster Disk provides disk conditioning, sample loading and sample elution in a fast, easy and efficient format.
